Bangkok Airways now offers 32 flights a day between Bangkok and Samui Island. The flight takes just an hour to travel the 700 km. southeast from Bangkok. The uniquely designed international airport of Samui also connects directly with Singapore (90 minutes) and Hong Kong (3 hours), giving easy access from all points of Asia.

Recently, the new airport of Koh Samui has been rated one of the ten best airports of the world by the very serious magazine and internet site 'Smart Travel Asia'. Bangkok Airways, the company that owns the airport, has also been selected in the category 'Best Cabin Service Worldwide'.

Thai Airways also delivers 4 flights a day connecting Bangkok and Samui since 15 February 2008.

The Island can also be reached from the southern town of Suratthani served by convenient daily plane, train and bus link from Bangkok. From Suratthani, morning and afternoon ferry services take two and a half hours to reach the island.
